Environmental Law
Course Description & Qualifications
The environmental law programme is delivered at two levels - Law I (Introduction to environmental law) and Law II (Environmental Law refresher course).
Law I (Introduction to environmental law) is a 1-day course providing a concise but comprehensive introduction to UK environmental law. The coverage is as follows :
- Legal framework and the role of the regulators
- Waste legislation
- Contaminated land legislation
- Selected hazardous materials legislation
- Air legislation
- IPPC regime
- Water legislation
- Statutory nuisance
Law II (Environmental Law refresher course) is a 1½ day course covering the same headings as Law 1 but to a greater depth. It builds on the foundations established in Law I and should be seen as a follow on course.
Both courses are primarily informative rather than qualification focused and although group work is undertaken, neither have a formal assessment. Cambio attendance certificates are issued for those requiring training records to support continuing professional development / competency requirements.
Who should attend?
Law I (Introduction to environmental law) is suitable for anyone new to the discipline of environmental management or who has had limited prior contact with environmental legislation. Delegates may include senior management, environmental management system (EMS) auditors, line managers, environmental champions and quality or health & safety professionals who may be expanding their responsibilities.
Law II (Environmental Law refresher course) is particularly suited to delegates who have previously attended the Cambio IEMA Associate Certificate course or NEBOSH Environmental Diploma.
