IEMA Associate Certificate in Environmental Management
Course description & Qualifications
This is a 10-day course normally delivered in two 5-day modules either on consecutive weeks or 3-4 weeks apart. Delegates who pass the course assessment are awarded Associate Membership of the Institute of Environmental Management and Assessment (click on the logo to find out more about IEMA).
As with all Cambio courses there is a strong emphasis on learning through practical exercises that encourage team working and innovation. This course is arranged around the following modules :
- Environmental sustainability
- Legal issues
- Managing environmental performance
A tiered approach is taken with Module 1 providing introductory coverage to each of the 3 modules. Module 2 builds on this coverage to provide a comprehensive understanding of the principles, skills and knowledge required to be a competent environmental practitioner. The course assessment process comprises continuous assessment in the daily practical exercises and an end of course open book examination lasting 2 hours.
Who should attend?
This course is particularly appropriate for those with specific responsibilities for the coordination and/or promotion of environmental control and improvement programmes, including ISO14001 certification programmes.
Delivery format and costs
In company delivery of this course enables greater focus on individual company issues and can be a very cost effective option for organisations with 4 or more people to train. Prices are £7800+VAT plus £130 per delegate (IEMA fees) for up to 14 delegates.

Progression
Delegates who have completed this course can go on to take the Advanced Environmental Practitioner Course and/or elect to join the third week of the NEBOSH Specialist Diploma in Environmental Management. Those that do not wish to extend their studies may keep their legal knowledge up to date through attendance of the Environmental Law Refresher course (Law II).
