IEMA Foundation Certificate in Environmental Management
Two versions of this course are available for in company delivery. The three day version is an excellent stand alone introduction to environmental management. The five day programme provides a littel more detailed and is linked to the Cambio combined syllabus programme meaning that delegates can transfer to more advanced modules delivered as part of the public course programme. Both versions combine practical case study exercises with trainer presentations and group review sessions. As with all Cambio courses there is a strong emphasis on activity based learning through exercises that encourage team working and innovation.
The course is divided into three parts:
- Environmental sustainability - developing an understanding of the issues, pressures and opportunities associated with environmental management in an organisation
- Legal issues - providing an overview of current UK environmental legislation and its implications for business and/or the public sector
- Managing environmental performance including :
- The methods and principles behind the identification of an organisation's significant environmental aspects
- Environmental management systems - ISO14001 and EMAS
- An overview of the control and improvement techniques used to manage waste, energy and pollution prevention within an organisation
Successful completion of the group exercises and a short end of course exam leads to the award of the Foundation Certificate in Environmental Management.
Note - delegates completing the 5-day version of this course can opt to recieve dual qualifications if successful duing the course assessments gaining both theIEMA Foundation Certificate and the IOSH Managing Environmental Responsibilities certificate.
Who should attend?
The course is aimed at people involved in company environmental improvement programmes and/or environmental management systems. The course is designed to be useful to delegates who have recently become involved in environmental management or for whom environmental management is an integral part of a wide range of responsibilities.
Note - as indicated above, the 3 day version of this course is separate to the Cambio combined syllabus programme. Organisations with delegates who may wish to continue to the IEMA Associate Certificate or Nebosh Diploma in environmental management are advised to run the 5 programme rather than the 3 day version of this course. As indicated above - on the 5-day programme delegates may recieve dual qualifications from IEMA and IOSH as well as qualifying for direct progression to part 2 of the IEMA Associate Certificate and Nebosh Diploma courses. Delivery format and costs
In company delivery of this course enables greater focus on individual company issues and can be a very cost effective option for organisations with 4 or more people to train. Prices are £3900+VAT for up to 15 delegates on the 5-day format and £2500+VAT for the 3-day format.
