Associated Qualification

The IEMA Associate Certificate in Environmental Management.

(This is the most widely acknowledged competency standard for individuals in environmental management roles and is often specified by employers.)

Course overview

This intermediate level course of the Cambio IPD programme builds on the core skills and knowledge introduced in Module 1 with much more information on guiding organisations through strategic change to long term environmental improvements and sustainability. As with Module 1 the course is divided into three modules :

• Environmental sustainability
• Legal issues
• Managing environmental performance

A tiered approach is taken with Week 1 providing introductory coverage to each of the 3 sections. Week 2 builds on this coverage to provide a comprehensive understanding of the principles, skills and knowledge required to be a competent environmental practitioner. The training course assessment process comprises a continuous assessment element and an end of course open book examination.

Target audience

This environmental training course is aimed at people with environmental management responsibilities within an organisation. It provides a sound grasp of key practitioner skills and is a widely used proof of competency for employers, clients, regulators and ISO14001 certification bodies.

Study options and costs

Our IEMA Associate Membership course is delivered regularly as a public environmental training course at a number of UK venues. Delegate fees for this second module are £1055+VAT. Click here for public course venues and dates.

This Module is part of our Integrated Profession Development Programme and is also available in e-Learning format .

Pre-requisites

IPD Module 1.

Progression

Delegates who complete this environmental training course often go on to complete Module 3 of the Cambio Integrated Professional Development Programme leading to our Advanced Environmental Practitioner Certificate and/or the NEBOSH Diploma in Environmental Management. Those that do not wish to extend their studies may keep their legal knowledge up to date through attendance of the Environmental Law Refresher course (Law II).
