NEBOSH Specialist Diploma
The NEBOSH Specialist Diploma in Environmental Management is our highest level qualification.
Course Description & Qualifications
This NEBOSH accredited course comprises three 5-day modules with the first two weeks of the three week programme being shared with the IEMA Associate Certificate course (delegates can elect to undertake the appropriate assessments in order to obtain the IEMA qualification as part of this course). The last module in the qualification programme leads to the prestigious NEBOSH Specialist Diploma in Environmental Management.
For details on weeks 1 and 2 of the course see the IEMA Associate Certificate course page
The third 5-day module builds on the content of weeks 1 & 2 and introduces additional coverage in relation to environmental law and management techniques particularly :
- Legal issues
- Measurement and monitoring of environmental pollutants and nuisance
- Assessing the significance of pollution
- Pollution control techniques
- Environmental performance improvement
In addition, during this third week delegates will consolidate the knowledge gained in modules 1 and 2 and prepare for the NEBOSH assessment process. The latter comprises a 3 hour exam which is set and marked by NEBOSH and a workplace project. Exams take place twice a year in June and December - for exact dates and project submission deadlines see the public course programme. Delegates wishing to take this third week but not to sit the NEBOSH assessment can register for the Cambio Advanced Practitioner Course .
A NEBOSH summary leaflet and the full course syllabus may be accessed via our downloads page .
Who should attend?
This course is particularly suited to Health and Safety Practitioners who wish to extend their NEBOSH qualifications. However, a health and safety background is not a pre-requisite for the course and delegates come from a variety of disciplines seeking detailed knowledge on environmental management techniques. The NEBOSH syllabus covers significantly more than the IEMA programmes in terms of practical pollution assessment and control techniques as well demanding a greater command of legal and best practice standards. Delegates wishing to take the third week but not to sit the NEBOSH assessment can register for the Cambio Advanced Practitioner Course.
Delivery format and costs
The Diploma course is delivered regularly as a public course at a number of UK venues. Delegate fees are £3100+VAT which includes all course costs and NEBOSH fees but excludes accommodation. The 'top up ' fee' for the third module only is £1150+VAT - this is only available to delegates who have already completed the Cambio IEMA Associate Membership course.
